Day 1; USA/Beijing

Meet at PassportWorld Tours Headquarters in Spring, Texas. Tour briefing with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Private shuttle to Bush Intercontinental Airport to board your non-stop flight to Beijing. Arrive at Beijing International Airport. Beijing is the capital city of China, with a population of 17.4 million. You will board the St. Regis Private Golden Dragon Bus. Day 2; Beijing

Attend a Grand Buffet Breakfast at the St. Regis Hotel and meet your Tour Guide. We embark on a full day tour which begins at Tiananmen Square, noted as the largest public square in the world with its monuments and buildings situated around the square’s perimeter. Thereafter we make our way across the road to the magnificent Forbidden City, one of the most recognizable landmarks and cultural symbols of China as the former royal emperor’s residence for five centuries. Visit the former seat of the Imperial Chinese Dragon Throne from the Ming dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty – the years 1420-1912. It also houses the Palace Museum. Day 3; Beijing

Step back in time and walk on the iconic Great Wall at Mutianyu (the longest renovated section) then visit the Breathtaking Summer Palace, a vast ensemble of lakes, gardens and palaces. It was an imperial garden in Qing Dynasty. The front hill is rich with splendid halls and pavilions, while the back hill, in sharp contrast, is quiet with natural beauty. Day 4; Beijing/ Xi’an

Travel First Class to Xi’an on China’s newest Bullet Train. Xi’an was formerly the eastern terminus of the Silk Road and the previous capital of China. Visit the Historical Ming Dynasty City Wall built in the 13th Century, walk along the ramparts and watchtowers. (Hilton Xi’an, B, L, D)

 

 

Day 5; Xi’an

Visit one the greatest archaeological discoveries in the world, buried around 210 B.C. is a spectacular display of thousands of Terra Cotta Warriors, horses, and chariots who stand in place guarding the First Emperor of China. In the afternoon stroll into the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, just like the Statue of Liberty in New York, or the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda is the most symbolic structure in Xi'an. The seven-story, 64-meter pagoda was built 1,300 years ago when Xi'an was the capital of the prosperous Tang Dynasty. The top of the pagoda provides a grand view of the old town. Evening at leisure. Day 6; Xi’an/ Guilin

Board flight to Guilin after breakfast. This historical southern city is a sub-tropical paradise. Trek inside the stunning Reed Flute Cave (Ludi Yan), every step you take in these caves takes your breath away. This 180 million year old cave has been an attraction in Guilin for the last 1200 years, Visit the many shops and markets such as Zhengyang Pedestrian Street located in the center of the city, near the Li River. Browse through local artist’s folk handicrafts, landscape paintings, clothing, and local snacks to entice your palate. (Shangri-La Hotel Guilin, B,L,D)

 

 

Day 7; Guilin/ Li River Cruise to Yangshuo

After breakfast you will embark on a scenic cruise down the serene waters of the Li River for spectacular views of the Guangxi Zhuang region's amazing countryside. Travel 52 miles (83 km) from Guilin to the city of Yangshuo down the winding river and witness the intriguing karst mountains, dramatic sheer cliffs, and small rural villages lining the shore. Enjoy a delectable lunch on board with your fellow travelers. Once disembarked in Yangshuo enjoy your evening at leisure. Day 8; Shanghai

Enjoy the delectable Banyan Tree Yangshuo breakfast before boarding your flight to Shanghai. Once arrived, you’ll journey to the pavilions, ponds, and zig-zag bridges of Yu Garden, Shanghai’s celebrated classical Chinese garden, dating to 1559. Then walk along the historic Bund waterfront, a designated section of Shanghai’s port along the Huang Pu River lined with beautiful neo-classical buildings and a waterfront promenade.
